Cocoa Vanilla Studio: Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone! Here’s a page for this most wonderful time of the year and all details are on CVS’ blog today.

Have a most beautiful time together with all your loved ones! Much love!

Hello there! I’m on Timeless Twine’s blog today. Though Christmas is over, I thought it would be fun to share this Christmas cards gift set I created for the season – something that I could either give as a present or even send to various love ones.

Given how busy everyone is during the days leading up to Christmas, I think it makes for fast work to create cards from a same collection of patterned papers and adorn them with twine. I used twine in different ways for each card and I think these ways can easily be used for non-Christmasy cards as well.  Be it as a ribbon, free style wrap around (loosely or tight) or merely a few strands in the background, twines are the perfect embellishment for cards. To tie everything together further, I used stamps from Bella Creationz’s new Christmas stamp set. Love it to bits!

Thanks so much for joining me today. I hope you are inspired by my ideas that went into this set of cards to create cards of your own using twine.

Timeless Twine: Christmas Ornament Card

Salutations! Today I am sharing a special Christmas Ornament card I created for the season on Timeless Twine’s blog. I like this idea because not only is it a card, I also like how the recipient can remove the ornament from the front of the card and hang it on her tree. Two gifts in one!

After punching holes in a circle, I wound twine through them in the pattern of a star. To this, I covered each hole with a brad, before inking the sides of the ornament and adding a full tassel at the bottom.

I also added a Christmas sentiment using stamps from Bella Creationz’s new Holiday Sentiment stamp set. This stamp set really makes for fast work in getting cards done!

I love how you can easily rope in your kids to help with winding the twine to create the ornament and certainly loved ones will be thrilled to know that the children were involved.

Thanks for joining me today. I hope you have a fruitful and joyous Christmas season!

Timeless Twine: Christmas Tree Trio

Salutations everyone! With Christmas coming really soon, I am so, so excited to be sharing with you this project today on Timeless Twine’s blog – a trio of Christmas trees I created using some paper cones and twines.

I wound twine around each cone (these came from the centers of some wool spools I had) and embellished them with sequins, pearls and buttons I had on hand. I love how these can be customized to fit your family’s color scheme for the season and the colors on these twines are so stunning!

To complete the entire project, I added some sentiments from Bella Creationz’s latest Holiday Sentiments stamp set. These are totally gorgeous and so, so versatile!

Thanks for joining me today and I hope you have loads of fun creating for the holiday ahead!

Christmas Is Here!

In our home, we try to create and make our own tree each year. It all started because we were living overseas and did not want to accumulate too much stuff. When the little ones came along, it made more sense to “customize” our tree each year, so that we can avoid having the tree pulled down. It also made them love their trees even more, when they were involved in the whole creative process.

 Christmas Tree 2014

Our tree this year is made up of 25 ornaments, each embellished with different Christmassy items that I love. I used stuff found in the Clique Kits Store to create many of these ornaments. Love Pink Paislee’s Merry and Bright collection to bits!

Here’s a close up of the ornaments:

Christmas Tree 2014 Star Small

A Star for no. 1 as it graces the top of our tree.

Christmas Tree 2014 2-4 Small

No. 2 -4. The Little Girl loves no. 3, which she describes as “sparkly like the star that led the Wise Men to Baby Jesus!”

Christmas Tree 2014 5-8 Small

No. 5 to 8. My row of favourites. Love the “Joy” on No. 5 and the amount of texture that corrugated paper from Fancypants Designs add to that particular ornament. For No. 6, I wound twine around the ornament to create the snowflake effect, before embellishing it further with gems. The wonderful typography found on Pink Paislee’s Merry & Bright paper was perfect for No. 7 and I love that wreath made using punched flowers for No. 8.

Christmas Tree 2014 9-14 Small

No. 9 -14.

See No. 12? The Little Girl created that one. Taught her how to wine twine on the ornament and she was so happy to be able to contribute to this creation. Embellished it with some pretty items and tadah! Done.

Christmas Tree 2014 15-21 Small

No. 15 – 21.

hat flair button on No. 16 is full of Christmas cheer, specially designed by Clique Kits. Love it!

Christmas Tree 2014 22-25 Small

No. 22 – 25. That silver foil word sticker from Pink Paislee is totally a dream to create with. Love the shine it adds to all these ornaments.

We have plans to keep these ornaments for the next few years to come – either as an advent calendar or to adorn our tree, should we ever get one. =)
