Hello there! I’m on Timeless Twine’s blog today. Though Christmas is over, I thought it would be fun to share this Christmas cards gift set I created for the season – something that I could either give as a present or even send to various love ones.

Given how busy everyone is during the days leading up to Christmas, I think it makes for fast work to create cards from a same collection of patterned papers and adorn them with twine. I used twine in different ways for each card and I think these ways can easily be used for non-Christmasy cards as well.  Be it as a ribbon, free style wrap around (loosely or tight) or merely a few strands in the background, twines are the perfect embellishment for cards. To tie everything together further, I used stamps from Bella Creationz’s new Christmas stamp set. Love it to bits!

Thanks so much for joining me today. I hope you are inspired by my ideas that went into this set of cards to create cards of your own using twine.

Timeless Twine: Christmas Ornament Card

Salutations! Today I am sharing a special Christmas Ornament card I created for the season on Timeless Twine’s blog. I like this idea because not only is it a card, I also like how the recipient can remove the ornament from the front of the card and hang it on her tree. Two gifts in one!

After punching holes in a circle, I wound twine through them in the pattern of a star. To this, I covered each hole with a brad, before inking the sides of the ornament and adding a full tassel at the bottom.

I also added a Christmas sentiment using stamps from Bella Creationz’s new Holiday Sentiment stamp set. This stamp set really makes for fast work in getting cards done!

I love how you can easily rope in your kids to help with winding the twine to create the ornament and certainly loved ones will be thrilled to know that the children were involved.

Thanks for joining me today. I hope you have a fruitful and joyous Christmas season!

Timeless Twine: Christmas Tree Trio

Salutations everyone! With Christmas coming really soon, I am so, so excited to be sharing with you this project today on Timeless Twine’s blog – a trio of Christmas trees I created using some paper cones and twines.

I wound twine around each cone (these came from the centers of some wool spools I had) and embellished them with sequins, pearls and buttons I had on hand. I love how these can be customized to fit your family’s color scheme for the season and the colors on these twines are so stunning!

To complete the entire project, I added some sentiments from Bella Creationz’s latest Holiday Sentiments stamp set. These are totally gorgeous and so, so versatile!

Thanks for joining me today and I hope you have loads of fun creating for the holiday ahead!

Timeless Twine: Fall Down Under

Hi there! Is it Autumn already? I love this season, especially all the wonderful colors around. While I might not be able to enjoy this season here in Singapore, I remember with immense fondness all the autumns we had while living in Australia. I thought it was only timely to scrap this photo I have of the capital city – Canberra during Fall and I am sharing this on Timeless Twine’s blog:

I love the colors in these Bo Bunny papers that I have kept for some time and decided that they matched my photo perfectly. Because of all the patterns on the paper, I kept my page fairly simple, choosing to really embellish the flower bloom with some equally yummy Autumn Splendor twine. I think the addition of twine on a page brings to the layout a certain texture and added softness.

I added some other embellishments and a sprinkling of sequins to tie everything together. And my page was completed.

Thank you for taking the time to join me today. I hope you have a wonderful time this fall and if you are thinking of getting some of those gorgeous Autumn Splendor twine, now is the time to do so, especially since they are now going for just $2.25 a roll!

Timeless Twine: Tworrific Two!

Hi there! I’m going to admit here that I often find myself playing catch-up in terms of my scrapbook pages. My little one is five this year and here I am, scrapping about her second birthday. =) Happy that I got round to it finally and am sharing it on Timeless Twine’s blog today. So here it is:

I kept the cake topper from the birthday celebration and decided that it would be a good idea to scrap the page around it. I have been hoarding Crate Paper’s Pretty Party collection for many years now, and decided that it was only appropriate that I used it for this page.

To add on to the celebratory mood on this page, I created a mini tassel bunting at the top of the page using raspberry lemonade twine and lemonade yellow twine. To unify the entire effect, I decided to pull two strands of the same twines across the bottom of the page. Adding some sequins added the much needed sparkle here.

And just like that, I’m so glad I get to tick this layout off my to scrap list and even happier that all these gorgeous twine made the job so much easier. Perhaps you might like to scrap a birthday page too? =)

Timeless Twine: Let Your Hair Down this Weekend!

Hi there! I’m excited to share with you a little something I created using Cape Cod bakers twine on Timeless Twine’s blog:

I thought this would make a perfect gift for a girl friend or even a little girl, with the intention of encouraging someone to take a break this coming weekend. I crocheted the bow using Cape cod and Lemonade yellow bakers twine. Add on a hair clip and I had a quick and easy gift!

To jazz up the gift further, I embellished a small kraft bag with a white doily and star sequins. I also stamped the banner from the Weekend Plans clear stamp set and attached that to a metallic gold sticker sheet. This is such a useful product as it made adhering the banner to the project easy.

I popped a little note into the bag for my friend and I was good to go! I hope you are having some fun this weekend and perhaps you might like to invite a girl friend along as well? =)

Timeless Twine: August Planner Page

Hello there! I’m back to share with you my monthly page in my planner on Timeless Twine’s blog. August is one exciting month here is Singapore, as a celebrate the nation’s 50th year of independence on 9 August. Given that it is our Jubilee year, I thought it would work beautifully to work with loads of gold and silver for this month’s pages.

To form the word “Aug”, I thought it would be fun to cut up some reinforcement stickers and use them as scallops. I quite like the effect, especially after outlining it with a grey pen. I also added a crochet heart embellishment, which I made using natural twine.

I took the liberty to add some Cape Cod bakers twine, as well as sprinkle on star sequins to complete the entire celebratory effect. I can’t emphasize how much I love the planNERD 2 and Weekend plans stamp sets, both of which made filling up my boxes so much fun.

Finally, with red being Singapore’s representative color, I used some red reinforcement stickers as labels to mark the period during which we will be enjoying a long weekend. Nothing like having a product that serves dual purposes!

Thanks for joining me today. Here’s to a wonderful August!
