Hello there! I’m on Timeless Twine’s blog today. Though Christmas is over, I thought it would be fun to share this Christmas cards gift set I created for the season – something that I could either give as a present or even send to various love ones.

Given how busy everyone is during the days leading up to Christmas, I think it makes for fast work to create cards from a same collection of patterned papers and adorn them with twine. I used twine in different ways for each card and I think these ways can easily be used for non-Christmasy cards as well.  Be it as a ribbon, free style wrap around (loosely or tight) or merely a few strands in the background, twines are the perfect embellishment for cards. To tie everything together further, I used stamps from Bella Creationz’s new Christmas stamp set. Love it to bits!

Thanks so much for joining me today. I hope you are inspired by my ideas that went into this set of cards to create cards of your own using twine.

Timeless Twine: Christmas Ornament Card

Salutations! Today I am sharing a special Christmas Ornament card I created for the season on Timeless Twine’s blog. I like this idea because not only is it a card, I also like how the recipient can remove the ornament from the front of the card and hang it on her tree. Two gifts in one!

After punching holes in a circle, I wound twine through them in the pattern of a star. To this, I covered each hole with a brad, before inking the sides of the ornament and adding a full tassel at the bottom.

I also added a Christmas sentiment using stamps from Bella Creationz’s new Holiday Sentiment stamp set. This stamp set really makes for fast work in getting cards done!

I love how you can easily rope in your kids to help with winding the twine to create the ornament and certainly loved ones will be thrilled to know that the children were involved.

Thanks for joining me today. I hope you have a fruitful and joyous Christmas season!

Timeless Twine: Let Your Hair Down this Weekend!

Hi there! I’m excited to share with you a little something I created using Cape Cod bakers twine on Timeless Twine’s blog:

I thought this would make a perfect gift for a girl friend or even a little girl, with the intention of encouraging someone to take a break this coming weekend. I crocheted the bow using Cape cod and Lemonade yellow bakers twine. Add on a hair clip and I had a quick and easy gift!

To jazz up the gift further, I embellished a small kraft bag with a white doily and star sequins. I also stamped the banner from the Weekend Plans clear stamp set and attached that to a metallic gold sticker sheet. This is such a useful product as it made adhering the banner to the project easy.

I popped a little note into the bag for my friend and I was good to go! I hope you are having some fun this weekend and perhaps you might like to invite a girl friend along as well? =)

Timeless Twine: Summer Love Card

Hello there! Sharing a card I made for Summer on Timeless Twine’s blog today. While we do not celebrate the 4th of July here in Singapore, I really love the color combination of white, red and blue. I decided to create a card that has loads of layers and fun star elements, using the said color combi.

Summer Love Card FN

I started my layering with some awesome corrugated cardboard that came in the packaging of my happy mail from Timeless Twine. Thereafter, I placed a rosette on top of a silver doily, before topping this off with a star-like bloom made from a zipper. Finally, I topped it off with a firecracker twine star that I created by winding twine around a scalloped circle.

The entire card is completed with some gold and silver sequins, some loose twine and stunning red ribbons. Top it off with a stamped greeting using the Hello Summer Stamp Set and I have a card ready to send off to a loved one.

Here are the links to the products I used. Have fun creating this Summer!

Timeless Twine: Monochromatic Monday – Orange Crush!

Hello there everyone! orange ranks as one of my favorite colors (though I really think rainbow is my all time fav=))

So I thought it would be fun to use it as my predominant color for the monochromatic challenge today on Timeless Twine’s blog.

I used the polaroid picture frame stamp from the “Oh Snap!” stamp set to create a background and I love how graphic the result is. To add interest to the background, I decided to stamp some of the picture frames on a darker orange cardstock before adhering them to the card. This adds dimension and interest to the card. Similarly, I also added smaller squares of a different tone to the background.

Once that is done, I had a ball embellishing the card with a huge bloom from Maya Road, an orange gift tag that I matted against black cardstock for some contrast. The greeting “Happy” was stamped using stamps from the Happy Days Stamp Set. For a final touch, I sprinkled on some orange toned sequins from the Clearly Beautiful Sequins pack.

Thank you for joining me today. Hope you will try your hands at some monochromatic fun too!

Timeless Twine: Shaker Card Saturday – Say Cheese!

Hello there everyone! On Timeless Twine’s blog today, I’m sharing a camera shaker card with you.

I was inspired by the camera stamp found in the “Oh Snap!” stamp collection and decided that it will be the perfect image to create a shaker card of.

I wound twine to mimic the color strips on the top of the camera and crocheted a heart to fill in the flash button.

The sequins in the camera are a mixture of  Clearly Beautiful, Sparkly Clear and Stars silver & gold.

I had loads of fun creating this one and perhaps you might want to create a camera card too? Say cheese!

Clique Kits: Clique Cards Spring Edition – Create your own background

Salutations everyone! Posting on Clique Kits blog today. I always love a challenge of creating my own backgrounds on my pages. When I first laid eyes on the Clique Cards Spring Edition, it was no exception – I had to create some background, especially with that gorgeous Altenew stamp set and I had some layouts in mind.

For my first page, I decided to cut large, narrow triangles to create a repeat pattern on the top and bottom of my page.

I love the bold effect this created and I went on to adhere my photo and embellishments. I thought a sprinkling of some of those lovely white sequins helped to soften the overall effect. We were at the museum when this photo was taken – I am grateful for the daily reminder from my kids on the importance of being curious and to learn continually.

For my second layout, I used the “hello” stamp from Altenew and covered the entire background with it. I decided to create an ombre effect, so it was certainly fun switching colors and stamping on the entire cardstock.

Hello 123 FN, @colortypes sophie @ cliquekits, #cliquekits #cliquecardsspringedition #papercraft #inspiration #DIY #scrapbooking

I thought it was appropriate to create a background of this nature for this picture in particular – one taken on the day we discovered that we have been blessed with Bub #3. We can’t wait for his/her arrival come this November! This page is very special for me, as it will be the first  layout for my third baby’s album. The embellishment found in the kit were also ideal for this page as I had the numbers 1, 2 and 3 in the kit as well as that lovely calendar diecut.

Thank you for joining me today. Here’s a tag to round it all off, as we celebrate our everyday (and also because I can’t seem to stop using all the lovely stuff in the kit. There’s so much!). Hooray!
