Page after Page…

20 10 2009

Not posting much these days, but that does not translate into not creating. In fact, here’s a post filled with pics. BUT before we get to that, thanks for all you well wishes and for sharing my joy! I’m throughly blessed by al lthe opportunities I’ve received of late in the world of creating. Before I post pics, allowed me to invite you to join us at Zutter for a Blog Hop! The OZZ Ladies, ie, the pioneer, original Zutter Zisters are having a blog hop and just by leaving comments, you might win some yummies for yourself!

First up, here are the pages created for Pink Sketches for the last few weeks, which I have been slow to post.

Rollin' Good Time Small

That’s Sketch #48, which celebrates the time spent with my bro-in-laws and sis-in-law bowling during Boxing Day last year. I certainly miss them heaps!

Jervis Bay Small

Next up, a cheerful happy page of our trip to Jervis Bay to do some whale watching. It was absolutely delightful and we enjoyed ourselves throughly, from the beautiful weather, to the whales, food and friends we made.

Sojourn Small

Last but not least, this week’s, marking it Pink Sketches’ #50, it’s Sojourn, a reflective page, as we trust the Lord to lead us. As sojourners through life, uncertain of what the future holds, we can only pray and seek His face… These days, we learning to do a lot more of that, knowing that ultimately, we can control nothing…

Not sure if you remember an earlier post where I mentioned how the Beloved and I love to make a special purchase for significant places we visit? For our honeymoon to Penang, we bought Mr Royal Typewriter, which I have not mentioned nor introduced to the world…yet…

Do the Write Thing Small

Say hi to Mr Royal Typewriter, whom I fell in love with the instance I laid my eyes on him. Do the Write Thing! A page created as an ode to my honours year thesis on Righting Myths….

I’ve got loads more to share, but they will have to wait for now, as I return to the process of cutting, sticking and getting myself messy. Thanks for being patient and do stay tuned!

Floriade

3 10 2009

The Beloved and I had a great time at Floriade! Each year in Canberra, this flower festival is held, heralding the arrival of Spring. We enjoyed admiring all the flowers and simply marvelling at how detailed God is in His creations. One of our favourites from the day, this beautiful organ that travels far and wide around Australia, playing at different fairs!

Play On Small

Music just makes everything seem so much livelier!

Meet Canberra…

4 09 2009

The Beloved and I have a thing for remembering significant places we visited by purchasing an item to remember the place by. For our honeymoon to Penang, it was an old typewriter, which I’ll write about in another post. As for Canberra, here’s what we got.  This was a lovely find we found while out treasure hunting one day. By treasure of course I mean me hunting down potential craft godies=) So after leaving it in the shop for a month, the Beloved and I decided that should she still be in the shop when we return, she’ll be ours. So say hi to Canberra, named so as our way of commemorating where we got her…

Butterflies Small

Of course Canberra did not come all decked out in flowers and butterflies. That’s me at work at prettifying her. The butterflies were glimmer misted, once again, to give it some shine. So Canberra now stands proudly in our home, for us to admire and of course, to inspire me…

Butterflies Details 1 Small

I’m excited today, for tomorrow, I’ll be at a local crafts market selling some handmade items. It’s at a beautiful building called the Mill House, here in Queanbeyan. I’ll write about that soon, with pics=) And I’ll probably bring Canberra along=)

Praise God!

27 04 2009

We’re celebrating! I was tremendously happy last week, after having worked so hard at the school event I was in charge of. The week brought with it even more good news when the results of the drama competition were released and the students did very well, clinching a bronze! Yeah! I let out a yulp of excitement when I read the SMS from my colleague. Wow!  This is the first time we have gone efor the competition and as a very young school, I’m just so proud of all the heartwork the students have shown!

Over the weekend, the beloved and I had a good time fellowshipping with the S family, a group of people who helped us tremendously when we were preparing for our marriage. It was good to just be able to sit down, have a meal together and give thanks to the Lord for all the goodness he has bestowed on us…

In line with this thankful spirit, I was creating my weekly layout and decided that it shall be on … food! Certainly something close to the hearts of the people around me. So here goes “Enjoying Life”, which celebrates the Beloved and my eating escapades while we were on our honeymoon in Penang, Malaysia. We enjoyed ourselves so much and wanted to explore this beautiful island throughly that we actullay went there twice, within six months! The first trip took place right after our wedding and we spent quite a bit of time just resting and sleeping, after all the planning and energy that went into the wedding. So the second time up there, we drove and got to go round the entire island, soaking in the various sights and filling our tummies with the yummies that were everywhere!

What I like about scrapping older pics is the fact that it presents an opportunity for the Beloved and I to revisit what we have done before, recounting all the memories that were created and just laughing at all the funny escapades, jokes we cracked (bad ones included), encounters with various people and how much time we have spent together… These will certainly be cherished, all the more so when our family gets bigger and we are privileged to share with our children all that the good Lord has given us…
